Overview Join our team at Tanglewood Family Dentistry, a well-established general dentistry practice in Clemmons, NC continuing a 60-year legacy of family dental care! We're a tight-knit team of 6, and as our Dental Hygienist, you will deliver comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our practice. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using our imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety standards are met Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care strategies Assist with chairside procedures such as cavity preparations, sealants, and fluoride applications using four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in Open Dental Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic technique and managing infection control measures in compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with our dentist and team to ensure seamless patient care delivery and efficient clinic operations Requirements Valid NC licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures No experience required — new grads are welcome to apply; prior clinical experience in a general dentistry setting is a plus A great personality and strong interpersonal skills — someone who genuinely enjoys people, connects easily with patients, and gets along well with everyone on the team Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation Experience with Open Dental is a plus, but not required — we'll train you on our system Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) taking dental X-rays and understanding radiation safety protocols Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate patients of all ages effectively Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures Ability to perform clinical duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality in accordance with
