In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health best practices, and support overall patient well-being. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills while making a positive impact on patients' health and confidence. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Skilled in dental x-ray techniques, including taking intraoral images while maintaining radiation safety standards. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures in general dentistry settings. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and HIPAA compliance management.
