Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment Review documentation for accuracy, ensure HIPAA compliance, and uphold patient confidentiality at all times Support medical imaging procedures and interpret basic dental terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting Proven experience in general dentistry with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care Hands-on experience with dental equipment, X-ray machines, and infection control procedures Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining a compassionate approach Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with patient privacy laws Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices Join us in making a difference through exceptional dental care!
