Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. As a key member of our practice, you will utilize advanced dental technology and maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using modern imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) system Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment. Support general dentistry procedures through chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and managing patient comfort. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding when necessary, and support the overall organization of medical records. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting. Proficiency with EHR systems is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children of all ages. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, X-ray techniques, and infection control standards. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently alongside dentists to optimize patient care. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Certification in radiography (X-ray certification) required; additional certifications in pediatric or general dentistry are advantageous.
