Dental Hygienist II Salary $31.64 - $42.20 Hourly Location Lincoln, NE Job Type Full time/probationary or status Job Number 202600495 Department Health Department Division Dental Health and Nutrition Services Opening Date 09/01/2026 Closing Date 9/8/2026 9:21 AM Central Description Benefits Questions Job Posting Information This is responsible professional dental work providing dental hygiene procedures, and administrative work developing and implementing dental health education programs. Work involves responsibility for the performance of professional dental work which includes scaling of teeth including subgingival regions and root planning with hand and ultrasonic instruments, polishing all exposed tooth surfaces with motor driven and hand instruments in oral prophylaxis procedures. Work also includes developing and implementing a variety of dental health education programs; acting as a dental health consultant to schools, community organizations and other interested groups; providing resource materials for schools, community organizations and other interested groups; demonstrating new dental preventive methods to Health Department personnel and to the public. Qualifications :
Graduation from a school for dental hygienists accredited by the Nebraska State Board of Dental Examiners and two years of experience as a dental hygienist; plus graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in dental hygiene, health education, adult education, or related field and two years of experience in community health education, school health education or adult education; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Licensed as a Dental Hygienist by the State of Nebraska. Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
