Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant to join our reputable growing general dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, team first approach and adherence to infection control protocols. The Registered Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Applicant must be able to work 2 Saturdays a month from 8:00- 12:00. For those interested we can also offer hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing teeth to prevent decay and periodontal disease Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Document treatment procedures accurately. Take medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining proper infection control protocols Ensure aseptic technique is maintained throughout all clinical activities Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before finalizing records Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and privacy Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review for compliance and billing purposes Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings, with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency with digital x-ray systems Strong knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and medical imaging procedures Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and documentation review processes Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices related to dental care Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality patient service This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patients' oral health while working in a supportive team environment committed to excellence in dental care.
