CARE / HYGIENE / HEALTH CARE POSITION SUMMARY
Under supervision of a qualified Dentist, assesses patient needs, and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. Utilizes established dental hygiene protocol and procedures. Performs some clerical duties related to the dental program.
REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Certificate or Diploma representing the successful completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must obtain by date of hire and maintain current throughout employment: Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of New Mexico. BLS/CPR certification. Certification must meet the requirements listed in the document "
BLS / CPR / ACLS
& First Aid Training Resources" posted on Staurolite. Must obtain within six months of hire and maintain current throughout employment: New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienist.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment: According to PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, "Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements," this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employee's PMS health center. Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH. $100 EMPLOYEE
