Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations using medical imaging techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately and review medical records for completeness. Take and develop dental x-rays (X-ray) while adhering to infection prevention protocols and maintaining equipment properly. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information and managing documentation review processes effectively. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices, including working with pediatric patients (Pediatrics) in a compassionate manner. Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and communication skills. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical imaging techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medical coding processes. Knowledge of dental equipment operation, X-ray safety protocols, and maintaining a sterile environment aligned with HIPAA compliance standards.
