Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health best practices, and support overall patient well-being. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary advice, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Implement infection prevention measures by following strict aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection control protocols in accordance with healthcare standards. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and scheduling management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment, taking vital signs, and supporting the dentist during various procedures. Ability to interpret dental imaging (X-rays) accurately while maintaining safety standards for both patients and staff. Excellent communication skills for client education, patient care instructions, and team collaboration. Deep understanding of healthcare infection prevention practices, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
