Registered Dental Hygienist
Job Description
Job Overview We are a Dentist owned practice where we strongly believe in treating our employees and patients with care and respect. Some of our staff have been here for 15+ years We are currently looking for an experienced registered Dental Hygienist. The ideal candidate must have an active RDH license. 2+ years of experience is preferred. However, new grads are wewlcome to apply. Willing to learn Open Dental software. The schedule is set for 1 hour dental cleanings.
Compensation:
$55 per hr + benefits (medical, paid time off);
•some benefits are limited to full time staff only. Schedule is Monday -Thursday from 8am-5pm, part time is also considered Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using digital imaging systems like Dexis. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including flossing, brushing, and dietary advice to maintain long-term oral health. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records electronically, documenting treatment details accurately within Open dental Support infection control standards by maintaining aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide seamless patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being throughout treatment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review for accurate record keeping. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental for efficient charting and appointment management. Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and medical imaging procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately while providing education on oral health maintenance. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
