Job Description
We are hiring a full time enthusiastic and energetic dental hygienist. This is a great opportunity to work in beautiful Skaneateles at a positive, modern, growing practice. We work with patients of all ages using state of the art equipment to give high quality care to all our patients. We use Eaglesoft software, digital radiographs, photography, CBCT, and 3D intraoral scanners. Hygiene scheduling is conducive to establishing and meaningful relationships with patients with an emphasis on comprehensive care. Duties include:
- Prepare a treatment room for the patient
- Prepare the patient for dental hygiene treatment
- Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
- Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatments
- Select materials and equipment for a dental hygiene visit by evaluating the patient's oral health
- Complete dental prophylaxis
- Assist in detecting disease by completing oral exams through visual inspection, radiograph interpretation and using a probe to locate periodontal infections
- Take digital radiographs
- Assist in screening for oral cancer
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene and plaque control instructions
- Document dental hygiene services and maintain patient health records
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
- Ensure proper operation of dental equipment Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program with a current license to practice in NY
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Focused on providing comprehensive, quality treatment
