The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices, patient care, and infection control protocols. As a vital member of our clinic, you will deliver comprehensive preventive dental services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our practice. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing to prevent oral diseases. Conduct thorough patient assessments and medical history review. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate dental imaging techniques while ensuring patient safety. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, emphasizing dental care routines and preventive measures. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information. Support the dental team with documentation review, dental coding, and ensuring adherence to healthcare infection control standards. Collaborate effectively with dentists and other staff to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist within a clinical or dental office setting. Familiarity with EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience in pediatric dentistry is advantageous for working with young patients in a compassionate manner. Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about oral health practices.
