Job Summary Family owned private practice-French Run Family Dental is seeking a motivated, dedicated and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, assessments, and education to promote optimal oral health. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold safety standards. Monitor patient responses during treatment, including vital signs, and report any concerns promptly. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing materials and managing dental instruments efficiently. Ensure all documentation review is accurate for medical coding and billing purposes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Experience Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in using dental software ideally Softdent for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience with medical imaging techniques and dental x-ray procedures ensuring patient safety. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental care needs. Prior experience working with EMR/EHR systems and maintaining detailed medical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance. $43.20 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 25.0 per week
