We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team to ensure we are providing comprehensive care and supporting our patients long-term oral health.
Position Highlights:
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in our patient care team. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, conducting oral health assessments, taking x-rays, applying fluoride or sealants, and educating patients on oral hygiene. Your attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to build relationships with patients will help create a positive experience for everyone who visits our office.
Responsibilities:
Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments. Examines gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease; feels lymph nodes under patient s chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate the presence of oral cancer. Applies fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Takes dental x-rays, exposes and develops x-ray film. Records and reviews patient medical histories; charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist. Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments. Provides clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public. Assist the surgeon during exams and procedures as needed
Qualifications:
Valid Dental Hygienist license CPR certification Thorough understanding of HIPAA and OSHA policies Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program, or the successful completion of a recognized vocational program in dental hygiene Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well with patients of all ages Proficiency in dental software systems Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care
