Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their individual needs. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) using Dentrix. Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Follow infection control standards and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Manage dental equipment maintenance, sterilization procedures, and inventory control to support smooth clinic operations. Provide patient care with compassion, professionalism, and clear communication to foster trust and satisfaction. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems for documentation and records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including providing age-appropriate patient education for children and their guardians. Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety protocols for patients and staff. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans clearly and empathetically. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation review and data entry. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, dental equipment operation, and aseptic techniques. Understanding of HIPAA compliance management to ensure privacy standards are upheld consistently. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in patient assessment and documentation.
