POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our clinical team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality preventative dental care and supporting overall oral health through patient education, clinical services, and collaboration with dental professionals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community health, skilled in hygiene procedures, and committed to creating a positive patient experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver preventative and therapeutic dental hygiene services, including periodontal care, in accordance with clinical protocols and licensure. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' oral health, including medical history reviews, dental and periodontal charting, and oral cancer screenings. Capture and process digital dental radiographs as prescribed. Support clinical efficiency by performing expanded functions as permitted by state regulations and under the direction of a licensed dentist. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and clinical observations in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and the importance of routine dental care. Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive materials as indicated. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies or complications during treatment. Participate in community outreach and oral health education initiatives. Ensure all instruments and workspaces are properly sterilized and maintained according to infection control protocols. Stay current with continuing education requirements and maintain active licensure. Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for patients of all backgrounds, ages, and needs. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and a commitment to serving diverse populations. Uphold the mission, values, and policies of the organization in all interactions and duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program. Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the State of Ohio. Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with dental software, digital imaging, and electronic health records. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Bilingual fluency (e.g., English/Spanish or English/Polish) is highly desirable.
