Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team on a full-time or part-time basis. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and foster a positive patient experience in a welcoming environment. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with healthcare regulations like HIPAA. Monitor and maintain dental equipment, ensuring proper function and sterilization procedures are followed consistently. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical coding standards for billing purposes. Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing compassionate care in a professional setting. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable, along with skills in pediatric patient care. Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards. Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about dental care and foster trust. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization processes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently. Understanding of medical coding for accurate documentation review and billing processes.
