Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energized and rewarding position, you will work closely with patients to assess their dental needs, provide preventive treatments, and educate them on maintaining healthy smiles. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Manage electronic health records (we use Dentrix Ascend), ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans, medical records, and dental charts. Maintain infection prevention protocols by adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Operate dental equipment safely and efficiently while supporting the dentist during procedures in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings. Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, providing clear explanations of procedures and answering questions to foster trust. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix Ascend for managing electronic health records and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Experience performing dental x-rays (dental radiography) with an emphasis on patient safety standards. Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Skilled in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices. Pay:
$55.00 - $62.00 per hour
