Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct thorough patient assessments by evaluating oral health status and recording vital signs Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring adherence to safety protocols Prepare patients for procedures by explaining steps and ensuring comfort throughout treatment Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning for procedures including prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and pediatric dentistry Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely Support the dental team by assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient information in EMR systems Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations Proven experience working in general dentistry or a dental clinic environment, including dental assisting knowledge is a plus Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record keeping Knowledge of various dental specialties including prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics Ability to accurately assess patient needs through vital signs measurement and clinical examination Familiarity with HIPAA standards to ensure patient privacy and data security Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work seamlessly with the dental team Prior experience in dental office settings demonstrating proficiency in dental terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and professional excellence!
