In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dental care by providing thorough cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease. Also provide cavitron assisted scaling and root planing as need for periodontal patients. Take dental radiographs using digital x-ray equipment, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing techniques, and dietary advice to improve overall dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations for efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records utilizing Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization of dental equipment to uphold safety standards. Requirements Valid Oregon license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures. Proven experience in general dentistry. Proficiency with Eaglesoft dental software for documentation review and electronic health records management is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental terminology necessary for accurate patient assessment and communication. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices. Ability to perform chairside duties seamlessly while maintaining a compassionate approach toward patients of all ages.
