Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, patient care, and infection control, with a passion for promoting oral health. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and supporting overall practice operations. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other preventive procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary considerations, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate aseptic techniques while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assist dentists during various procedures with chairside assisting, handling dental equipment, and managing dental supplies efficiently. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure a sterile environment. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding related to dental care. Strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment operation, and infection control standards within a healthcare environment. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred to effectively serve young patients' unique needs. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism and compassion. Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program; licensure compliant with state regulations.
