Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities and gum disease Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort Assess patient vital signs and medical history to support safe treatment planning Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and post-treatment care to promote lifelong dental health Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all treatments and patient interactions thoroughly Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe clinical environment Review medical records and coordinate with healthcare providers when necessary to support comprehensive patient care Monitor patient responses during procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental equipment and supplies as needed Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care Familiarity with infection control standards, HIPAA compliance, and medical coding practices Excellent communication skills for effective client education and team collaboration Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles for working with children effectively Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare privacy laws Join our team and make a real difference in patients' lives by combining your skills with genuine care.
