Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene practices, patient care, and clinical procedures. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to excellent patient outcomes while fostering a positive and educational experience for our patients. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment. Take Radiographs using digital imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment details, and review documentation for completeness in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control standards, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient vital signs and assess overall health status before procedures to ensure safety during treatment. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments, managing medical imaging, and ensuring proper setup of equipment. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in a dental office or clinic environment with a focus on patient care and clinical procedures. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable, along with familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and infection prevention management. Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent communication skills for client interaction, a thorough understanding of dental equipment operation, and adherence to HIPAA compliance standards. A background in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry combined with experience in dental assisting or hygiene roles will be considered an asset.
