Job Description
Overview Join our dental team ,one to 1 1/2 days a week. Easy paced, relaxed enviroment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque, tartar, and stains to promote healthy smiles. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining their health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure a sterile environment. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention guidelines. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration within a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of EMR/EHR management systems and experience with medical records documentation is highly desirable.
