Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent dental disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions using EMR/EHR systems Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with infection prevention standards Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and review documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed by managing sterilization of dental equipment and maintaining aseptic techniques Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for charting, scheduling, and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric patient care is a plus Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and providing patient care efficiently Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy New Grads are welcomed as well!
