Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection prevention protocols, including sterilization of dental equipment and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to documentation review, medical coding, and appointment scheduling. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care tailored to children's needs. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and managing infection control procedures. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique. Familiarity with EMR/EHR management, documentation review, and medical coding processes.
