Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional dental hygiene care specifically tailored to pediatric patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for children and their families. Your expertise will help promote healthy smiles through thorough cleanings, patient education, and comprehensive assessments. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, with a focus on pediatric patients' unique needs Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort Educate young patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to infection prevention protocols and safety standards Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment details in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information Prepare dental equipment, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination Support the dental team by chairside assisting during various procedures, including dental imaging and medical imaging techniques Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding when necessary, and manage electronic health records efficiently Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a pediatric dentistry setting or general dentistry with pediatric care exposure Familiarity with Open Dental is highly preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and infection prevention management Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children and their families to foster trust and cooperation Experience in chairside assisting, taking X-rays, vital signs measurement, and patient care documentation Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us in delivering outstanding pediatric dental care that builds healthy habits for life!
