In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, patient education, and support overall patient well-being. We are looking for someone with confidence in their field, great communication skills, and with a positive attitude and passion for taking care of people. If you aren't familiar with our software- no problem. We can teach you! This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference! Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings of all types, including periodontal care. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems on Dentrix (we can teach you the software) ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of safety and infection control. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including dental coding where applicable, to support billing and insurance processes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to educate patients, and discuss dental needs and options. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while adhering to safety guidelines for radiation exposure. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. $36.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 38.0 per week
