This temporary position plays a critical role in supporting dental health care teams by providing high-quality oral hygiene services to patients during this period. The Temp Hygienist ensures patients receive thorough dental cleanings, preventive care, and education on maintaining oral health, all while contributing to overall patient well-being. The role requires adaptability to various clinical environments and the ability to quickly integrate into different dental practices while maintaining consistent standards of care. The Temp Hygienist collaborates closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to identify oral health issues and recommend appropriate treatments. Ultimately, this position helps maintain the smooth operation of dental clinics by filling temporary staffing needs without compromising patient care quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid and current dental hygiene license in the state of Tennessee. Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program with a degree or diploma. Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, oral anatomy, and infection control protocols. Ability to pass background checks and comply with health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in multiple dental office environments or temporary staffing roles. Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and dental practice management software. Additional training or certification in specialized dental hygiene techniques or patient education. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments including oral health evaluations and periodontal screenings. Provide professional dental cleanings, scaling, root planing, and other preventive treatments to patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and clinic protocols. Collaborate with dentists and clinic staff to develop individualized patient care plans and ensure seamless clinical workflow. Adhere to infection control and safety standards to maintain a sterile and safe clinical environment. Adapt quickly to different dental office settings, equipment, and team dynamics to provide consistent care.
