Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our awesome dental team in a part time position, with the potential to eventually move to full time. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain patient oral health. Radiology skills for routine x-rays License to administer local anesthesia. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) Dentrix Ascend while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols to uphold safety standards. Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology and coding. Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for managing patient records and documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately by taking vital signs and evaluating oral health status. Experience working in general dentistry settings with a focus on comprehensive patient care. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their treatment plans.
