Job Overview Dream Dental is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team! We believe in having a team of people that truly love to serve their patients. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for patient education, and the delivery of preventive and periodontal treatment as part of the dentist-directed oral hygiene team. It is essential to be gentle, friendly, detail-oriented and able to work in a team environment. Looking for a long-term fit! Responsibilities Assess and plan appropriate dental hygiene care including prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, debridement, periodontal maintenance and adjunct services Complete hygiene procedures using hand and mechanical scalers with a high degree of technical skill Take digital X-rays and use intra-oral camera. Conduct general oral health screenings and review medical history for each patient, communicating findings to the Dentist Provide accurate and concise charting and complete database information so the Dentist can determine the appropriate treatment plan Provide topical anesthetic and nitrous oxide monitoring under general supervision by the Dentist Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and help them understand and accept the care they need Set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation according to office guidelines Report and document all procedures accurately and on time in Open Dental Maintain a clean work environment and equipment to meet OSHA and CDC sterilization and infection control standards Adhere to confidentiality, State, Federal and HIPAA guidelines regarding patient records Other duties as assigned Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene Active Texas Registered Dental Hygienist license Current CPR certification Ability to operate standard dental equipment including Cavitron, Prophy-Jet, X-ray, dental chair and unit, sterilizers, hand scalers, curettes and handpieces Strong patient care skills and a gentle, caring chairside manner Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Attention to detail and strong charting accuracy Able to work well on a team and independently Able to multitask and adapt as the day and the practice change Self-motivated, coachable, and able to self-reflect Laser certification (Preferred) Open Dental experience (Preferred) Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
