Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and documenting medical records accurately. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Review documentation for accuracy, update electronic medical records (EMR) systems, Dentrix, and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements. Proven experience working in a dental office setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles when working with pediatric patients. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health, dental assisting techniques, and documentation review processes.
