Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) utilizing dental x-ray equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards aligned with HIPAA compliance. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures. Proven experience in dental office settings, with knowledge of general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation accuracy. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, including dental x-ray machines and other clinical tools. Strong client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment plans. Experience using EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
