Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, adhering to infection prevention protocols Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to tailor treatment plans Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments and materials efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, digital radiography systems, and intraoral cameras while maintaining safety standards Review and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards Maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment by following infection control procedures and aseptic techniques at all times Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and record management Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately Familiarity with medical terminology, medical imaging, and medical records management within a dental setting Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while ensuring patient comfort and safety Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with OSHA standards Effective documentation review skills including medical coding, charting, and maintaining detailed medical records Join us as a Friday Hygienist, (8AM-12PM) to bring your passion for dental health into a dynamic environment where your skills truly make a difference!
