Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits. Assist dentists during procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere to HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and practicing infection control standards using aseptic techniques. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with dental software systems like open dental. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Demonstrated competence in medical terminology, dental records management, and understanding of healthcare infection prevention protocols. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside support during various procedures while maintaining high standards of infection control. Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration to ensure a positive patient experience.
