Responsibilities:

• Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
• Conduct patient assessments and screenings to identify oral health conditions
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation when necessary
• Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
• Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures

Skills:

• Proficient in dental office management systems such as Dentrix
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
• Excellent patient assessment skills to identify oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
