Job Overview We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our small family dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and assessments while supporting the overall efficiency of the dental practice. We are a family owned practice with a stable patient base for over 30 years. We love our patients and our small team of 5 and hope to find the right fit to join our family! Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration Take radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring proper infection control procedures Educate patients on oral health practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental wellness Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EMR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations and practice standards Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed by managing sterilization of dental instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques Skills Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix) for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures Experience with pediatric dentistry practices, including working with children in a compassionate manner Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and providing support during various treatments Ability to accurately perform dental x-ray procedures while maintaining patient safety and comfort Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control protocols to ensure a sterile environment Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management for comprehensive patient care compliance Join our team to make a positive impact on patients' lives through excellent dental care!
