Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health. Assist with dental procedures such as prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics (braces, aligners), oral surgery, endodontics (root canals), and periodontics (gum treatments). Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate seamlessly with dentists and dental assistants to support general dentistry services and specialized treatments. Maintain a clean, organized operatory environment while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling patient appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical coding for billing purposes. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Experience in performing patient assessments, taking vital signs, and documenting medical records accurately. Prior dental office experience that demonstrates excellent communication skills and teamwork within a clinical environment.
