Dr. Mohanty is an experienced, hands-on dentist who treats his hygienists as true clinical partners — not just another set of hands. This position offers flexible part-time scheduling to fit your lifestyle while providing meaningful work that makes a difference every day. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, review medical histories, and document findings to ensure safe, effective treatment Capture and interpret dental radiographs accurately using Dexis digital imaging, while maintaining strict infection-control protocols Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health Maintain detailed, accurate documentation in our practice management system (Eaglesoft) Adhere to HIPAA regulations and aseptic technique to safeguard patient privacy and ensure a sterile environment Partner with Dr. Mohanty and the team on patient care and treatment planning Qualifications Active Virginia dental hygiene license with current CPR and radiology certification Experience in a general dentistry setting; experience with patients of all ages a plus Proficiency in dental terminology and a solid understanding of oral anatomy Familiarity with Eaglesoft and Dexis (or similar practice management and imaging systems) for efficient, accurate recordkeeping Strong knowledge of infection control, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration New graduates welcome — we're happy to support the right person Why You'll Want to Work Here A genuinely supportive, drama-free team that has each other's backs A respected, experienced dentist who values hygienists as partners A stable, established practice with a loyal patient base Flexible part-time scheduling that fits your life
