In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options Assist with various dental procedures such as prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics as needed Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to deliver seamless patient care experiences Skills Proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping Knowledge of specialized areas including pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics Strong understanding of medical coding and dental assisting procedures Ability to assess vital signs accurately and recognize signs of oral or systemic health issues Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively with team members Prior experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments is highly preferred Join us in making a difference by providing top-tier dental hygiene care!
