Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup effectively. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Adhere strictly to infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures for dental equipment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental assisting techniques. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Experience with dental x-ray procedures and proficiency in utilizing dental equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with HIPAA compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills tailored to engaging patients across diverse age groups, including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities seamlessly.
