Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Covel, Stack & Henon, DDS is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team‑focused Full‑Time Dental Hygienist to join our established private practice. You will be instrumental in providing preventive care, patient education, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe clinical environment. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate record keeping. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting. Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental equipment and providing patient care during various procedures. Ability to perform dental x-rays (X-ray) accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA regulations. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment options.
