Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining safety protocols Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems , Dentrix accurately and efficiently Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental instruments Review medical and dental records for documentation accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations Support general dentistry procedures by providing patient care that emphasizes comfort and understanding Ensure all dental equipment is functioning correctly and report any maintenance needs promptly Qualifications Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state requirements Proven experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs Knowledge of infection control standards, healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA), and medical coding practices Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and providing compassionate care in accordance with healthcare regulations Join us to make a positive impact on our patients' smiles!
