Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental x-rays using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs. Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, managing dental equipment, and ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control procedures and managing dental instruments and equipment efficiently. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and electronic health records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care. Experience with pediatric dentistry, general dentistry procedures, and pediatric patient management preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices. Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort.
