Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to enhance their understanding of oral health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to safeguard patient and staff health. Monitor and record vital signs before procedures, ensuring patient safety throughout treatment sessions. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical coding standards for billing purposes. Uphold professional dental terminology standards while communicating effectively with patients and team members. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, especially when working with pediatric patients. Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience in chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures is beneficial but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and documentation review. Prior exposure to EMR systems and familiarity with medical coding enhances efficiency in recordkeeping. Join our team where your expertise fuels healthier smiles!
