Job Overview We are seeking dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) to join our amazing dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Primary Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management to uphold the highest standards of aseptic technique. Support patient management by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology understandable to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Assist with dental equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functioning during clinical procedures. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks efficiently using patient management software like Epic or similar systems. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines specific to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices. Other duties as instructed. High Value Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical imaging techniques such as X-ray procedures. Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar software for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise. Ability to operate dental x-ray machines safely while maintaining patient comfort; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages; experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, medical coding for documentation purposes, and general dentistry practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
