Position Summary The Sterilization Technician / Back Office Dental Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environment by ensuring all dental instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and prepared for patient care. This position supports dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and specialists by maintaining infection control standards and assisting with back-office operations to ensure smooth clinical workflow. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sterilization & Infection Control Collect, transport, clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment. Operate ultrasonic cleaners, instrument washers, and autoclaves according to manufacturer guidelines. Monitor sterilization cycles and maintain sterilization logs and records. Perform biological spore testing and documentation as required. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage. Organize and store sterilized instruments according to office protocols. Ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and infection control standards. Maintain sterilization areas in a clean, organized, and efficient manner. Back Office Support Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient procedures. Stock operatories with necessary supplies, instruments, and materials. Assist dental assistants and providers with room turnover between patients. Transport instruments, lab cases, and clinical supplies as needed. Maintain inventory levels and notify management of supply shortages. Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing dental supplies. Ensure all clinical areas remain clean, stocked, and operational throughout the day. Equipment Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sterilization equipment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a multi-specialty dental practice. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Familiarity with OSHA, CDC, and infection control regulations. $24.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
