In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care while supporting the clinical team. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Office is open Tuesday-Friday. Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure efficient workflow. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical and dental records in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs measurement and assess patient health status prior to treatment. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Requirements Valid RDA license or certification in with current registration. Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting; pediatric dentistry experience is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to perform dental imaging procedures including X-ray and 3D scanning techniques safely. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Strong communication skills as a dental receptionist or front office assistant are advantageous for patient interaction. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry when needed.
