The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting. Experience with dental terminology and various dental software systems is highly desirable. Responsibilities Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to established protocols. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and monitor equipment performance. Assist in the preparation of treatment areas by ensuring all necessary supplies are available and organized. Support chairside assisting during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials to the orthodontist and assistants. Adhere to infection control standards and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions or issues promptly. Taking and processing intra/extra oral photos x-rays. Placing or separators in patients mouths and taking scans when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being an advantage but will train the right candidate. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Edge is beneficial. Understanding of medical/dental/orthodontic terminology, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Aseptic technique knowledge is crucial for maintaining high standards of hygiene within the clinic.
