Responsibilities Doctor & Technical Communication Serve as a primary technical communication link between the dental laboratory and doctors. Communicate with doctors regarding case requirements, specifications, questions, concerns, and technical considerations. Ensure doctor instructions and case requirements are accurately understood and communicated to the appropriate laboratory departments. Follow up with doctors when prescriptions, scans, photographs, specifications, or other case information are incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear. Maintain professional and timely communication with doctors and dental practices. Technical Case Support Review incoming cases to identify technical requirements, potential concerns, missing information, or inconsistencies. Provide appropriate technical suggestions and recommendations regarding restorative procedures, dental materials, laboratory options, and available technologies. Assist doctors in understanding laboratory capabilities, material options, design considerations, and other technical aspects of their cases. Communicate technical information between doctors and laboratory technicians to support accurate case execution. Escalate complex cases or technical concerns to the appropriate senior technical or management personnel when necessary. Case Accuracy & Quality Control Review doctor instructions and case information for accuracy and completeness before production. Identify potential issues that could result in production errors, delays, remakes, or miscommunication. Proactively clarify discrepancies with the doctor or appropriate internal team before the case proceeds. Monitor the accuracy and quality of technical information exchanged between the laboratory and doctors. Support processes designed to reduce communication-related errors and improve case outcomes. Documentation & Case Records Maintain accurate and traceable records of case-related communications, technical discussions, doctor instructions, recommendations, and follow-up. Document changes or additional instructions received from doctors in the appropriate case-management system. Ensure relevant information is accessible to the internal teams responsible for completing the case. Maintain organized records of recurring technical questions, concerns, and feedback. Feedback & Process Improvement Collect and communicate doctor feedback regarding cases, technical issues, materials, products, and laboratory services. Identify recurring communication or technical issues and report them to management. Work with laboratory and operations teams to improve case communication, technical processes, and overall case accuracy. Support initiatives aimed at improving doctor experience, case quality, turnaround times, and reducing avoidable remakes. Qualifications Experience as a dentist, dental laboratory professional. Strong understanding of restorative dentistry, dental materials, dental procedures, and laboratory workflows. Strong understanding of digital dentistry and dental technologies preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both doctors and internal laboratory teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in case instructions. Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Proficiency with computer systems, email, case-management platforms, and relevant digital dental tools. Ability to work effectively with doctors, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
